Our weekend started off with a bang. We took Olivia to see Horton Hears a Who on Friday with the gang (Jen/Bran/Lex, Amy/Colin/Andrew, Tammy/Megan/Sydney). The movie opened Friday night. We have been reading the book to Olivia for a couple of weeks now. She’s read it so many times that she has parts of it memorized and it always amazes us when she starts reciting word from word whole sections of the book. Anyway, the movie was really cute and all the kids loved it.
Then we had a very busy Saturday. First off, I ran my first 5 mile race. We officially graduated from the 3k’s and are now off and running 5 miles. Happy to say that Amy, Jen and I all made it and I think right under an hour…but we have to check the official scores. I’ll record it here later.
Right after the race, Dan and I took Olivia over to Teresa’s development for an Easter Egg hunt for the children in the neighborhood. She had a lot of fun and unfortunately for Dan and I she gave all her chocolate candy to us. She just does not like chocolate; but I guess that will be a good thing for her when she gets my age!
After the egg hunt, we were off to Samuel’s 5th birthday party. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMUEL!!! I just can’t believe how big all her friends are getting! Olivia had a blast jumping like a wild child at the moon bounce house where it was held.
I thought for sure driving home she would fall asleep…but to no avail. Dan wasn’t home so I took Olivia on a little bike ride since the weather was pretty nice today. She loves her bike and we rode to the park.
And our day still wasn’t done. Once we got home, we went out to eat at the Japanese Steakhouse and now I’m thoroughly exhausted!! Sunday won’t be as busy, but we have to start getting the house ready for the carpet installers who are coming on Tuesday. We are getting new carpet throughout the house. It really needed it and I hope it turns out okay!
