After contemplating it all morning, we decided to venture downtown DC for the We Are One concert for Obama. We were pleasantly surprised that the metro going down wasn’t nearly as crowded as we thought. Yes, ton of people, but manageable. We got as close as we felt comfortable and stayed almost to the end. I wanted to be sure that we were one the first wave of people exiting for the metro…which we were, thank goodness….because there were a TON of people!
Olivia fared pretty well. At one point she leaned over to me and said, “Lets thank Daddy when we get home because this is a lot of fun!” Yes, Dan was the one pushing for this little adventure since I would have been happy not being in the middle of that crowd, but ultimately I’m glad he pushed it because it was neat to be a part of history. Plus I think I saw more celebrities here then I have in my entire lifetime.
