Just downloaded Olivia’s ‘chore chart’ on the iPad. Now that she’s in second grade, we are going to get ‘serious’ about have chores and a weekly allowance. Her chores range from ‘brushing her teeth’ to emptying upstairs trash two days a week, and lots of other things in between (like taking care of the dog!). I also added “completing homework with a positive attitude!”…first day of homework and we already started to complain – sigh!
Her allowance is $2.00 a week and some other built in rewards for certain number of stars she receives. I have a feeling this will be just as much an act of discipline on my part in reminding her of her chores as it will be for her in actually doing them….but I’m going to give it a try!
