After Kudashi we sailed to Patmos. We arrived about 4pm and our tour took us to the Grotto. We learned that the island of Patmos is the most holy outside that of the hold land of Jerusalem and this is because of the Grotto. Where Jesus appeared to St John on a cave as he while he was excited on the island of Patmos. It says in the bible that he was on the island. This is where he wrote the book of Revelations.
We went inside the cave …. Now a church and it was so incredible to be at the very place where St John and the miracle of Jesus appearance occurred. Dan and I touched the stone where it was said that St John used to pull himself up and stood in the very place where his helper transcribed the book of revelations while he sat in the cave during his last days. That was just so awesome to experience and be there.
We later toured the rest of the island … Very small and charming. We spent the rest of the time before we boarded back in the ship wandering the streets of the town.
