We woke up really early to catch the bus and we arrived in NYC around 11am. Our first order of business was to take the subway to Little Italy for lunch at Da Gennaro and of course a stop for espresso and deserts at Ferrara was next. I about died eating the little trio of deserts … both of us have been eating so healthy that the little buz of sugar sent us flying — ready for our non stop walking tour of NYC! We wizzed through China Town on our way to the Brooklyn Bridge!
While we were on the bridge we saw a marching band dressed in all red crossing — so much fun! Later we learned that it was the largest rainbow parade record breaking event.
Next on the stop was the 911 Memorial. It was so touching to see; brought back many memories – sacred ground for sure. We walked around both memorials and ran our hands across the names. So sad, but such a beautiful tribute to the lives lost.
Then it was off to explore Chelsea … went to the Chelsy Market (Dan had the world’s biggest lobster which did him in that night – ugh!)! It was a long day!
After a long day, we went back to the hotel – ready to start day 2 in NYC!
