This year we decided to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at a little treehouse in Hocking Hills, Ohio.   We recently saw a YouTube video all about the treehouses at Hocking Hills, Ohio.  We put it on our bucket list to some day stay here.   The treehouses are booked months, and even years in advance, so we thought our chances of finding a weekend would be slim to none.  I put my name on the ‘notify of vacancy’ list and hoped for the best.  A couple of weeks before Christmas, I got an email indicating that the Maple Treehouse had a last minute vacancy during Christmas.  Dan and I booked it right away and we are so glad we did.  We had such a wonderful time and definitely will be back!

Since we only stayed three days (and one Christmas day) we didn’t have time to explore the entire area, but we did hit the major highlights which included four magical hikes:  Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave, Rock House and Cedar Falls.  We also had a lovely Christmas Eve brunch at the Inn at Cedar Falls.  We even found a small Luteran Church to attend for Christmas Eve service.  It was magical to wake up on Christmas morning in our little treehouse – and Santa even found his way to us!
