Well, Dan made it…to his 40th birthday. I can NOT believe he’s 40…which doesn’t feel good to me either because we are just one year apart in age, ugh! He doesn’t seem to mind turning 40, he has a good grasp on the whole “age doesn’t mean a thing…it’s how you feel” philosophy. Although he has admitted to feeling a bit old and run-down lately…get to the spin class dear! I’m not going to be pushing you around in a wheel chair anytime soon, LOL!

To celebrate we took our friends to a fabulous restaurant, Grandale Farm. It was a perfect evening drinking wine (too much), eating great food, enjoying company on the patio with lights flickering late into the evening. http://www.grandalefarm.com/

And because I am feeling nostalgic, I dug out an old picture of us the first year we met (June 1990). We were sitting in his parent’s kitchen (of course, PSU was a big thing in that household and we were both going there.) I believe this was right after we came back from Spring Break in Daytona Florida. I was 20 and Dan was 21. Look at us, so young, fresh-faced! Oh those were the days!

BEFORE: before our career, mortgage payments, car payments, economy woes, taxes, family drama, a child, 3 states, 3 houses, errands to run, appointments to be made/had and years, years, and years of togetherness…

AFTER: well almost 20 years of the above…

Well, times are ‘a-changing’ and there is no stopping the clock…..we’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds, but one thing that we know for sure….the years go by and they go by faster and faster, so stop and appreciate what you had/have/will have…before they are gone for good!

Happy Birthday Dan!
