We had a great fourth of July Weekend.
All in all, it was a great little vacation. It was one of those weekends where we didn’t ‘plan’ too much, just got in the car and drove and ended up seeing and doing a lot. So fun and a nice little break from everything.
It wall started Thursday with fireworks with some friends.
Then we headed out bright and early on Friday for Lancaster, Pa to visit Dutch Wonderland. It’s an amusement park just for little kids and it was so nice. Very clean, and sweet rides. It wasn’t crowded at all and although it was overcast, it didn’t rain until later in the evening…which at that point we were ready for the water park anyway. So it worked out perfectly. Olivia LOVED every minute of it.
We spent the night in Lancaster and then in the morning we explored the area. We stopped in the town of Bird in Hand for a little antique shopping, then for a little miniature golf. Afterwards, we went to Strasburg and explored the railroad and rode the train. Very fun.
After the railroad we went to the town Intercourse and rode a horse and buggy through a covered bridge and around town. Olivia loved it and she had a million questions about the Amish. At one point, since everything we were saying was about the Amish, she said, “Why does everything have to be Amish…amish, amish, amish, that’s all you talk about it”. Too funny.
After a long day, we headed to Philadelphia to visit Tammy and Billy. Spent the night and then left in the afternoon. We had a very nice visit.
